Play Date at Ocala Civic Theatre

The Civic is making it easier for parents to enjoy live theatre by offering on-site childcare during select matinee performances in Season 75! Purchase a ticket for the first Saturday matinee (2 p.m.) of any of the following shows and register for free childcare during the performance through our new Play Date program:
Into the Woods: September 13
The Crucible: November 1
A Tuna Christmas: December 6
Little Shop of Horrors: January 31
Steel Magnolias: March 14
Children of Eden: May 2
Play Date is held in Studio A and begins half an hour before showtime, running from 1:30 p.m. until the end of the performance, or 4:45 p.m. at the latest.
Children ages 5-12 will engage in a fun, on-site theatre workshop focused on collaborative play, featuring exercises in acting, music, creative movement, and art, while parents enjoy the performance! A team of trained teaching artists from The Academy at Ocala Civic Theatre will provide age-appropriate activities inspired by the play, allowing kids to explore their creativity and introduce them to the world of theatre.
Plan ahead! Space is limited to 20 children. Your child must be age 5-12 by the day of your chosen Play Date. Registration for each Play Date opens the day tickets go on sale for each show. Click the link below to register.
