Lemonade Weekend is a special opportunity for our community to rally around children in foster care and show them they are not alone on one of the hardest days of their lives and help us raise awareness and funds to get our house built. When Carter County (Our TN house) opened, families began hosting lemonade stands as a way for children to support other children—and that first summer, kids raised an incredible $7,000 for the mission of Isaiah 117 House. In honor of that spirit, we continue to host Lemonade Stand Day and now Lemonade Challenge Weekends. It's a joyful way for families, churches, and kids to make a meaningful difference and build awareness around what removal day means for a child in crisis. On this day all Isaiah 117 House locations host lemonade stands throughout their community and see who can spread the most awareness. During this event, we aim to set up as many lemonade stands as possible throughout the community, competing with other Isaiah 117 House locations to raise awareness about the needs of children on removal day--a difficult time that Isaiah 117 House strives to reduce trauma for children awaiting placement, lighten the load for the child welfare services and ease the transition for foster families.
