Get your New Year off on the right foot by taking a First Day hike at Crystal River Preserve State Park on New Year’s Day! This Florida State Park event will be led by experienced volunteers. Group hikes will leave from the Trailhead starting at 8 a.m., and hike about 1,3, or 7 miles.
First Day Hikes are free and open to the public with no pre-registration necessary. This is a great family event! Donations will be used to sustain future interpretive programs in the park.
Participants should wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and dress for the weather, as these hikes will happen rain or shine. Bring water and snack. Two full water bottles are recommended for the 7-mile option. Bug spray is recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must remain on a hand-held leash no longer than 6 feet, and owners must remove all of their waste. Just for this event, we will have a portalet at the trailhead.
