City of Ocala and SunTran Celebrate Mobility Week

Mobility Week supports Marion County, City of Ocala, Ocala Marion Transportation Planning Organization and Suntran’s mission to provide safe, comfortable, and accessible transit services as a viable means of mobility to the citizens and visitors of Ocala/Marion County
Marion County and the City of Ocala are celebrating Mobility Week with the following events:
• Helmet Fitting and Giveaway:Wednesday, Nov. 1, 4:30 to 6 p.m. To promote bicycle safety, FDOT, in collaboration with the City of Ocala will be providing bike helmet fittings, with free helmet giveaways and bike lights.
• Distributing safety items to riders on Thursday, Nov. 2, 8 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Downtown Transfer Station, 501 NE FirstAve., Ocala, FL 34470.
• Hosting “Try Transit Thursdays”. On Thursday, Nov. 2, SunTran fares will be waived for all travelers.
• Walk and Talk Tour: Friday, Nov. 3, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Ocala Downtown Square. The Walk and Talk Tour is a unique opportunity to see the world through the eyes of different street users’ motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, transit users, seniors, children, visually impaired individuals, and those with mobility devices. Through facilitated conversations and shared experiences, empathy and understanding while conveying essential safety messages.
