Ocala Soap Box Derby

RACING INFORMATION: There are 3 Soap Box Derby divisions that kids compete in: Stock ages 7-13, Super Stock ages 9-18 and Masters ages 10-20.

The Stock Division is open to boys and girls 7-13 years old. This is the easiest division and features cars made from a ready-to-assemble kit. These can be ordered in red, white, or blue and can only be decorated with vinyl lettering. The Super-Stock cars are slightly larger, weigh more, can have a custom paint job, and can accommodate a driver from 10 to 17 years old.

Through the generous donations of local business, community organizations, and individuals, we own about 35 derby cars that we make available to local children (ages 7 to 20) to drive and compete in local rallies and the race. There are three styles of cars: stock, super stock, and masters. Each has its own set of weight and age restrictions.

Racers learn STEM concept (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) while having fun and making new friends. Soap Box Derby racing is a sport that educates and inspires youth through fair and honest competition.
