Education and Enrichment offers year-round multi-generational programs that build confidence, compassion, and community through creative arts. Through the exploration of stories, we develop our learners’ self-worth and empathy while nurturing their confidence and sense of responsibility. The communication and collaboration skills built through creative play also contribute to the personal success of our learners and their positive impact in their communities, both great and small.

Outreach Programs:
In School Touring Show - Ocala Civic Theatre annually presents an in-school touring show to expose local students to the performing arts. Our actors visit local elementary schools to perform a production geared for young audiences, introducing them to the wonderful world of theatre. Productions are chosen with a theme in mind which is relevant to today’s students.

Literacy Tour - Ocala Civic Theatre, in cooperation with Marion County Public Schools media specialists, annually chooses a children’s author whose works are presented in dramatic form to local students. Ocala Civic Theatre actors visit local elementary schools to give dramatic presentations of selected books, celebrating the work of selected authors and illustrators in a fun and theatrical way. Our presenters share the joy of reading and encourage further reading by engaging students in creative activities which coordinate with the chosen books. Ocala Civic Theatre is proud to promote literacy to thousands of local students each year through the use of dramatic arts, visual arts, and music.
