The weekly playgroup is free for children from birth to age 5 and their parent or caregiver. Trained facilitators lead families in play-based learning, including singing, storytelling and hands‑on activities that build social, emotional and cognitive development. Caregivers receive guidance on how play supports early brain development and school readiness. Free developmental and behavioral screenings are also available during the expanded playgroup hours. Snacks are provided through community support, and the Coalition welcomes local partners interested in helping sustain this free program. No registration is required.

The program is designed for families whose children are not in a traditional child care setting. The playgroup provides opportunities for children to socialize while teaching caregivers the importance of developmentally appropriate play to help their children prepare for success in kindergarten.
