The staff and volunteers at The Salvation Army have been busy with preparations in an effort to share love and hope during these unprecedented times to the Ocala community.
Beginning at 1pm and ending at 4pm, The Salvation Army will conduct a drive-thru distribution of canned food boxes, bread, produce, and other items to needy families affected by COVID-19. In addition, a prayer team will be available to pray with and spiritually encourage people.
Distribution takes place at 2901 NE 14th St. The Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service. We will be serving up to 230 families on this day as supplies are limited.
Attendees are asked to come with their trunks empty and stay in their vehicle at all times in order to maintain social distancing. Hot meals will also be available through our Emergency Disaster Services mobile kitchen. They will be pre-packaged and given to each family with limited contact.
We hope to continue to have additional drive-thru food distributions in the future as supplies are acquired. The community can drop off canned food and non-perishable items to the same address during normal business hours 8:30pm-4:00pm M-F.
Distribution will continue to be held EACH MONDAY(EXCEPT MEMORIAL DAY) until further notice.
