Habitat For Humanity of Marion County

Habitat For Humanity of Marion County

Habitat For Humanity of Marion County is a volunteer driven organization, so we depend heavily on a strong volunteer base to help with our efforts. Simply put, Habitat would not exist without the help of volunteers.

Youth ages 16 and 17 may be on site when power tools are in use. However, they are not allowed to operate power tools or engage in any hazardous activity. They can use hammers, screwdrivers, handsaws, caulk guns & staplers.

For youth 14 and 15 years of age, Federal Law does allow the following activities:
1)Landscape work that does not involve the use of power tools, equipment or machinery
2)Painting
3)Clean-up work
4)Site and house clean-up
5)Errand work
6)Cashiering or selling
7)Office or clerical work
8)Kitchen help/Preparing Volunteer lunches
9)Registering volunteers

No one under the age of 16 is allowed to on the work site when construction is being performed but may be allowed to participate by helping with other tasks that are not construction related.
