West Port High School is the home of the Marion County Center for the Arts, the visual/performing arts magnet program in Marion County, the Biomedical Science magnet program, the Global Logistics program, and the Early College Program.

Marion County Center for the Arts (MCCA)

This center attracts artistically gifted and talented students from Marion County and surrounding areas. Students accepted into the Center's program may attend West Port High School regardless of their school assignment.

The mission of the Marion County Center for the Arts is to prepare artistically gifted and talented students for post-secondary arts education and/or employment in the arts while aspiring to the highest quality arts and academic instruction possible.

Biomedical Science Magnet

The West Port High School Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science Program is a sequence of courses aligned with Career and Technical Education (CTE) national learning standards. The program follows a hands-on, real-world problem-solving approach to learning.

Students also develop the workforce attributes necessary to succeed on any career path they choose. PLTW Biomedical Science students learn to analyze current medical articles, design original experiments and collaborate with their peers to solve real-world scenarios. The program is designed to prepare students to pursue a post-secondary education and career in the biomedical sciences.

Global Logistics

Global Logistics is the process of moving products from the place where they were made, to places around the world where they are consumed. West Port High School has a Global Logistics program where students are trained in all areas of this important industry.

Early College Program

The Early College program offered at West Port High is a partnership between the College of Central Florida and the Marion County School Board to provide enhanced learning opportunities for qualified high school students through the effective use of community college programs and resources.

Qualified West Port High students may accelerate their college education through dual enrollment courses offered on our campus. West Port is the only high school in Marion County which offers a full range of dual enrollment courses taught right here on our campus with no need to travel to the college campus. Dual enrollment courses are available to eligible students at no cost!
