Fort King National Historic Landmark

Fort King National Historic Landmark

The Fort King National Historic Landmark & Visitor Center is in Ocala, Florida. The site consists of 37 acres, interpretive trails and picnic facilities.

The park is open every day from sunrise to sunset or 7 p.m. (whichever comes first). The Heritage Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Park amenities include the Visitor’s Center complete with Fort King and Florida history, a library, video viewing and artifacts found across the site. There is also an interpretive trail that descends from the top of the hill (where the fort stands) to the Seep Spring and down through a ravine that includes both foreign and native plant and tree species. Pack a lunch and make some memories at one of our picnic facilities.

Field Trips: We have two options for field trips here at Fort King: Guided Tour & Self-Guided Tour. Any groups over 15 total guests must choose the guided tour option. All field trip requests must be submitted at least two weeks before arrival date.
